There are several main working groups within the Parent Council organisation. These groups are listed below with a brief outline of their aims.
The Communication Group aims to identify useful methods to enable parents and carers/school/pupils to effectively share information to:-
Help the school convey to parents key issues involving them and provide a forum to demonstrate the activity that goes on at the school.
Provide parents with a forum to ensure they can share ideas and views on the school in a constructive manner.
Support pupils by inviting parents/carers to be actively involved in the school.
The music group will look at ways to support the development of music within the school.
There are several acres of grounds awaiting development, with keen students eager to get their hands dirty......Help set out plans for the future.
Careers guidance, tutorials, skills development.... if you have advice for our young people that you would like to share, then get in touch with us.... We currently have several Parent Council members willing to spare time to introduce your children to career development prospects with professional speakers extolling the highs and lows of their chosen careers.
Balfron High School Parent Council has approved the setting up of a charitable Trust Fund to finance the things that are outside of the schools' normal budget. Monies raised by the Parent Council will go directly into this Fund, which is to be managed by an independent body of parents, teachers and advisors. More on the Trust Fund can be found here.
Some young people need extra help. The Council will assist in extra learning and support where appropriate.
